Early last week YouTurn travelled to Cambridgeshire Police HQ in Huntingdon for the NWG (National Working Group) conference on Disruption and exploitation. The aim of the day was to learn what other areas are doing to tackle and disrupt CSE and CCE (Child Criminal Exploitation) perpetrators and also to find out more about cuckooing, county lines and Serious Youth Violence. Cuckooing is a crime where, usually, drug dealers will take over the home of a vulnerable person in order to use it as a base for drug dealing. Bedfordshire will be using the NWG disruption toolkit alongside the toolkit devised by the Home Office in our response to CSE and exploitation as a whole. The NWG toolkit also includes adult vulnerability and disruption in these cases.
